Spiritual Gifts are being misused || Empowering Presence (Week 3)

In the third installation of our 'EMPOWERING PRESENCE' series Mike is sharing on Spiritual Gifts. Spiritual Gifts are special abilities given by the Holy Spirit to believers for the edification of the church. For example; Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Faith, Gifts of Healing, Miraculous Powers, Prophecy, Distinguishing between Spirits, Speaking in different kinds of tongues, & Interpretation of Tongues.

These Gifts are:

1. Spirit empowered

2. Serve needs for the common good

3. different kinds of gifts.

THE GOAL: God's people become like Christ and do Christ's work.

THE PROBLEM: Misuse & Abuse. Making it about "me". Not Being Loving.

You have received Power! (from God) || Empowering Presence (Week 1)

This week we kick off a new teaching series, EMPOWERING PRESENCE on the Holy Spirit including, what is Pentecost about? Who is the Holy Spirit? How can we hear God’s voice and even know it’s God? Most importantly, how is this relevant to today's church?

 

Today's Message from Mike looks at the day of Pentecost from Acts 1. The Beauty and Power of Pentecost can be alive in us through:

 

1. Experiencing - experience intimacy with God.

2. Morphing - being transformed into Christlikeness.

3. Discerning - wisdom to discern.

4. Empowering - empowered to live the mission.

All My Love | Mother's Day At Goodlife

Happy Mother's Day to all mothers, grandmas, carers & mother figures!

 

"Life is so beautiful. Life is so hard." - Kate Bowler.  This mothers day we hold the truth contained in this quote as we seek balance in the beauty, joy, challenges and demands of life and being a parent.

Today we have a panel of Mums sharing their wisdom and insights on parenting and the revelation of God's love that comes through becoming a parent. Following this Emma Bell shares her journey of love through her daughter Naomi, the prodigal son and volunteering as a hospital chaplain.

Today we are reminded that God's love will always persevere in seeking after us.
