Freedom Fighters - walking in justice and mercy || GRIT week 11 with V Gilmour

How to make life decisions? || GRIT with Lucas Bartlett week 10

Sometimes the hardest truths in Scripture come disguised in the simplest words. James 4:13–17 is one of those passages—it’s short, practical, and deeply personal. The message begins at: 11:25 It’s about how we plan, dream, and make decisions. And James asks us to consider whether our plans are built around our will or God’s.

This message explores what happens when we live by “my will”—and the freedom and purpose that come when we live by “Thy will.” It’s both a warning and an invitation: to shift from self-determination to divine partnership.

We are delighted to welcome a special guest speaker Lucas Bartlett is the Co-Lead Pastor of Surf Church Phillip Island alongside his with Ash and the Principal of CSALT Academy (Christian surfers advanced leadership training), a discipleship and leadership training school for young surfing adults. As Principal of CSALT Academy, Lucas has invested in raising up the next generation of Christian Surfers leaders. CSALT Academy provides immersive discipleship, theological training, and mission experiences, equipping young adults to live boldly for Christ in their everyday contexts.

Lucas’ heart is to empower others to discover their calling and to step into leadership with both courage and humility.

Why we need Jesus || GRIT with Nic Gilmour week 9

This week Nic brings us a message based on James 4: 10-12. He explains that we as a church are called to unity, not uniformity. We need biblical humility in knowing who we are in Jesus, beloved forgiven children of God and flawed people. It is from this posture that we can engage with different opinions. Nic provides some great insights including:

• The way we tackle difficult issues is important
• Jesus came to fulfill the law, he is our atonement.
• He both contracts and expands the law giving us the greatest commandment, loving the Lord your God with all your heart and love your neighbour as you love yourself.

Real Faith || GRIT week 5 with Joren Berry

Our GRIT series is a deep dive into the book of James, taking on the challenge to live out our faith. We are delighted to welcome our Young Adults Pastor Joren who is sharing his first message at our Sunday morning service and it's a cracker!
