Today Mike is sharing about Smallness; achieving or doing something small and how it's the little things that add up to big change. In Luke 13, Jesus uses the metaphor of a mustard seed that grows into a tree.

As we continue through the gospel of Luke, Mike Hardie is sharing Luke's Good News on PRAYER. In his message, he dissects The Lord's Prayer and 5 ways Jesus invites us into transformation. It's not a strict rule or formula but each verse brings profound ideas about how to pray.
1. "Father, hallowed be your name" invites intimacy and holy awe.
2. "Your kingdom come" refocuses our priorities with God's purposes.
3. "Give us each day our daily bread" reminds US to trust in God's provision.
4. "Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves are forgive" reminds us of God's restorative justice.
5. "Do not lead us into temptation" expresses dependence on God for deliverance.

Carrying on from last week Mike is sharing a second part about LUKE'S GOOD NEWS ON FIRE. Today our reading is from Luke 9:51-56. Expanding on the fire of God's love, there is:
1. A FIRE WE MUST AVOID: the fire of judgment
2. A FIRE WE MUST EMBRACE: the fire of God's love
"We need wisdom and discernment wrapped in God's love."
Mike also finishes with 3 questions we can ask ourselves...
Do we make people curious about Jesus, or push them away because of our attitude?
Are we carrying the fire of God's love, or the fire of our own judgement?
Am I using wisdom & discernment wrapped in God's love?

We are very lucky today to hear from Guest Speaker; Dave Adamson (@aussiedave), as he shares that reading the Bible is complicated. 11% of Adult Christians read the Bible daily (Statista) and 47% of Christian teens have never read the Bible (ACC). So what can we do to fix this? It starts with our daily decisions that will determine our spiritual direction. Dave shares a beautiful encouragement that it can be easy to do, and that "one verse today beats good intentions tomorrow."

Last Sunday was Vision Sunday and our Lead Pastor, Mike Hardie shared about Luke's Good News for Goodlife Community Church. In Luke 6, Jesus calls us to be Disciples (Students, Apprentices) as well as Apostles (Sent Ones, On Mission). So for 2025 we as a community are being faithful and intentional about connection & contribution.
